Complete Hearing Test
1st Test – Video Otoscope While watching a tv screen, we are inspecting a clients ear canals and eardrums. We are also checking for wax, infections and perforations in eardrum.
2nd Test – Tympano Gramt to measure the mobility and the pressure within the middle ear system.
3rd Test – Pure Tone Hearing Test, The client is wearing headphones and is presented pure tones from 125Hz to 8000Hz at different hearing levels.
4th Test – Speech Testing using spondee words such as “armchair”, “hardware”and “mousetrap” at different hearing levels to see the ability of the clients speech discrimination in decibel levels.
5th Test – Air Bone Tone Testing, The ability to test clients middle ear and eardrum by placing bone oscillator behind ear and presenting pure tones.
After Hearing Exam
After the hearing exams are given, the hearing professionals presenting the exams has a thorough background of the clients hearing ability. If the client has a hearing problem, they will be told there options or choices to correct any problems.
